Dr. Stefan Rakowsky studied at the Technische Universität Berlin and received his diploma in physics in 1989. He received his doctoral degree in molecular physics in 1994 at The Pennsylvania State University, USA. From 1994-1996 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Max-Planck Institut für Strömungsforschung, Göttingen. From 1995 to 2008 he worked as a research assistant at the Surgical Research Unit OP 2000 of the Robert-Rössle-Klinik Berlin in the area of laser induced fluorescence diagnosis, photodynamic therapy and telemedicine. Since 2008 he has coordinated tele-video tumor conferences at the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center.
