Hasibe Cingilli Vural
Dr. Vural was born in Konya, Turkey, in 1972. She graduated in Molecular Biology at the Institute of Gebze High Technology University in Kocaeli, Turkey, and received her PhD. at Selçuk University. She has been a researcher and the head of the DNA laboratory at the Selçuk University, Turkey since 2007. She is also a researcher and a lecturer at the Medical Faculty in Necmettin Erbakan University. She is an experienced biological anthropologist with particular expertise in paleopathology and recent and ancient skeletal variation. After initial studies on developmental anatomical topics, her current research topics are: cancer molecular biology, cell biology, medical biology and genetic, signal mechanisms in cells, neurogenetic and congenital diseases, epigenetic mechanisms and genomics and metabolic pathways. She also focuses on the studies of synthesis and characterization of DNA ligands and vectors, on G-quadruplex interactive compounds as telomerase inhibitors, on new lipids and liposomes, molecular modeling for drug design and plant, animal or human, microorganism, tissue, blood, hair, forensics etc. and organic materials isolated from archaeologic remains. Furthermore, aDNA, mtDNA, RNA, protein and DNA studies, RT-PCR, and gene manuplation etc. Spectroscopic studies of the interactions between the synthesized ligands and different DNA structures. In Environmental Chemistry, she focuses on: new techniques for the characterization of atmospheric particulate matter, detection of PCBcarboxylic acids in seawater, new methods for the inertization of hazardous waste products. Her current research interests include pattern recognition in forensics, biology, molecular biology, archaeomety, pharmaceuticals, medicine, environment and using data obtained from chromatography, spectrophotometric analysis, electrophoresis. DNA and protein sequence analysis and biopharmaceutical and food analysis.
