Francisco Cuevas

Francisco Javier Cuevas de la Rosa received the degree of Engineer in Computer Systems at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Monterrey in 1984, the degree of Master of Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores of Monterrey Campus Edo. of Mexico in 1995 and the degree of Doctor of Science from the Optics Research Center of León, Gto, in the year 2000, additionally completed studies of the Master's Degree in Administration with a specialty in Finance at the University of Guanajuato in 1988. He did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Computing Research Center of the National Polytechnic Institute in 2001 and 2002. He has held and participated in various conferences and academic stays internationally in the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. He has more than 50 publications in rigorously peer-reviewed international journals and has presented more than 100 extensive papers at national and international conferences. He has over 1,200 citations to his published work. He is a member of the National Research System since 1995. He has been Head of the Optical Metrology Department from 2003 to 2006 of the Optical Research Center, A.C. He was in charge of the Directorate of Academic Training of the Optics Research Center, A.C. from 2006 to the beginning of 2013. During his administration, he opened the Master's program in Optomechatronics. He was coordinator on behalf of the CIO of the design of the Higher University Technician in Optomechatronics program at the Technological University of León. He is the founder of the Technological Innovation Network in Optomechatronics in 2007, which incubated more than 30 scientific-technological projects with the participation of Higher Education Companies and Institutions with a fund of more than 80 million pesos. He is currently the Editor of the Special Issue in Algorithms 'Metaheuristics” of Editorial MDPI. He is a referee for several international journals such as Optics Express, Applied Optics, Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences, Applied Sciences Journal, Textile Research Journal among others. He is a Senior Researcher at the Optics Research Center in León, Gto. since the year 2000 and his lines of research include: Optical Metrology, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Meta-Heuristics and Evolutionary Algorithms.
