Sai Praveen Haranath
Dr Sai Praveen Haranath is a physician working at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad,India and is also part of one of the first Tele ICU programs in India. He did his MBBS at Madras Medical College and then went to the USA. Over 15 years in America he specialized Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and is American Board Certified in these fields. His training and employment at premier locations included the University of Connecticut, Loyola University, Oregon Health and Science University and numerous other hospitals. He also obtained a Masters in Public Health degree. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and is on the steering committee of the Disaster Response Network, the Occupational and Environmental Diseases Network, and also part of the Marketing Committee of this global organization. He returned to India in 2011 to pursue his lifelong desire to raise the standard of Indian and global healthcare through the ethical practice of excellent medicine. He has expertise in fiberoptic bronchoscopy and advanced bronchoscopic procedures and he has significant experience in the research arena. His prior experience in rural, community and academic settings in the USA and most recent engagement at The Permanente Medical Group/Kaiser Permanente in the San Francisco area and his current position at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad have given him a wealth of experience in pulmonary medicine and bronchoscopic procedures. Increasing access to pulmonary medicine is one of his goals and education of trainees will go a long way towards this.
