Dr Mohamed Abdelaal, MD, FRCPath, FRCPI, is a senior Consultant Hematologist at the Adult Hematology/Adult BMT, Princess Noorah Oncology Center, King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He trained in hematology at the Hammersmith Hospital and the London Hospital in Whitechapel, UK, before he took up his current position in 1987. In addition, Dr Abdelaal holds the position of Chairman of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Head of King Abdullah International Medical Research Center. Dr Abdelaal holds several achievement awards and is very active on various fronts of teaching, academics, and research with over 90 publications, management, quality improvement and auditing. His areas of research interest are thromboembolism, leukemia and lymphoma.
