FRANCISCO SILVA is a full-time associate professor at the Department of Informatics of the Federal University of Maranhão, Brazil. He received his B.Sc. in computer science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC), Brazil, his M.Sc. in computer science from the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA), Brazil, and his doctorate also in computer science from University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. His main research interests include distributed and mobile computing, with emphasis on grid and cloud computing. He is a member of ACM and has been in the program committee of international conferences and workshops such as the International Conference on Grid computing, high-performAnce and Distributed Applications (GADA), IEEE Workshop on Pervasive Collaboration and Social Networking (PerCol), Ambient Intelligence Environments (AmI Environments) and the Workshop on Adaptive and Reflective Middleware (ARM).
