15 December 2011

Europe's fastest growing Open Access company, IntechOpen are pleased to announce our attendance at the 2012 World Sustainable Energy Conference, 10-12 January 2012, held at the ILO Conference Centre, Geneva.

The conference coincides with the launch of the United Nation's World Sustainable Energy Year 2012 and will act as the prelude to the Rio+20 Summit, held later in the year. With the aim 'to encourage everybody on Earth to implement environmentally compatible, more efficient energy systems, cleaner transport and a better energy consciousness by humankind', the Geneva conference will have as its focus the areas of Energy Production and Job Creation.

Delegates at the conference will get the opportunity to meet and speak with some of our publishing experts who will be on hand to offer information and advice regarding all aspects of publishing using the open access model – where all academic books and journals are made freely accessible online.

Aleksandar Lazinica, CEO at IntechOpen, comments: 'Climate change and sustainability remains a pressing concern and has justifiably retained its position at the top of the global political agenda for a number of years.

'Following the Durban climate meeting in December 2011, 2012 will be a continuation of the UN's call to bring about greater political and cultural commitments to improving energy efficiencies, widening access to renewable energy sources, and increasing awareness via multi channels. And that's where we come in with our expanding portfolio of specialist books and journals.'
