IntechOpen with Yoshinori Ohsumi at ICYGMB 2017

06 September 2017

IntechOpen attended the 28th International Conference on Yeast Genetics and Molecular Biology (ICYGMB) held this past week at the Prague Congress Centre in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference was a unique event for researchers in yeast genetics and molecular biology to discuss the latest trends and research results happening in the field.

A conference highlight was the opening lecture delivered by Prof. Yoshinori Ohsumi, the 2016 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology and Medicine, 2017 Breakthrough Prize Winner in Life Sciences, and IntechOpen published author. It was an absolute honor to spend time with Prof. Ohsumi, talk about his work and have him autograph the chapter he published with us.

At the event we also had the pleasure of meeting another IntechOpen author, Professor Emeritus, Dr. Michael Breitnenbach, from Salzburg University. We talked about Dr. Breitnenbach’s rich research background and current research work in biogerontology.

ICYCMB was a great opportunity to connect with our authors and discuss new projects which will be visible in our portfolio in the months to come. Stay tuned!
