IntechOpen Author Up For Lifetime Achievement Award

The nominations for this year's American Psychological Foundation Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Application of Psychology category have been announced, and we are delighted that one of our Authors is being considered for this prestigious award.

As Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Luciano L'Abate is an editor and author of two IntechOpen books - Mental Illnesses: Understanding, Prediction and Control, and Mental Illnesses: Evaluation, Treatments and Implications. He has recenly been appointed to join IntechOpen's Scientific Board and this nomination is in recognition of his overall contribution to the field of Psychology during what has been a distinguished academic career spanning some forty years.

In 1994 Dr. L'Abate was awarded the title of Family Psychologist of the Year by the Division of the Family Psychology of the American Psychological Association, and he pioneered the world's first Ph.D. Family Psychology Program.

He is listed in the Who's Who of Science & Mental Health and in addition to being author or co-author on over 200 papers, articles and chapters his work has been translated into several different languages and he has held lectureships across the world, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, Spain, and his native Italy.
