Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences Laureate Publishes New NRF2 Research

30 January 2017

The newly published, A Master Regulator of Oxidative Stress - The Transcription Factor NRF2, edited by José Antonio Morales-González, Ángel Morales-González and Eduardo Osiris Madrigal-Santillán, discusses NRF-2 and how this transcriptional factor functions and how the study of the activators and/or inhibitors of NRF-2 can help prevent or control diseases like cancer.

This book consists of ten chapters that discuss various functions and processes of NRF-2, including “NRF2 Rewires Cellular Metabolism to Support the Antioxidant Response” written by Dr. Lewis C. Cantley, Dr. Ting-Yu Lin and Dr. Gina M. DeNicola.

Dr. Cantley made a significant mark in the scientific community when he was awarded the 2013 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences for his discovery of PI3-kinase and its role in cancer metabolism.

In their chapter, Dr. Cantley, Dr. Lin and Dr. DeNicola discuss the antioxidant programs regulated by NRF2 and how NRF2 supports ROS detoxification through metabolic rewiring.

We are happy to have been able to work with all of the above scientists in the publication of their research and look forward to continuing to support all of them in their continued efforts to understand this very important regulatory protein.
