Shefiu S. Zakariyah
Shefiu S. Zakariyah received Diploma and B.Eng (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Ph.D. in Optical Interconnection and Laser material processing from Loughborough University, U.K. He recently completed his postdoctoral research fellowship with the Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Research Group (EMERG), University of Greenwich at Medway. Furthermore, Dr. Zakariyah serves as a reviewer for a number of leading academic journals in photonics and surface mount technology, and authored a book chapter on Laser ablation for polymer waveguide fabrication in Micromachining Techniques for Fabrication of Micro and Nano Structures. He is currently serving as an invited guest editor for a thematic issue of Recent Patents on Electrical Engineering (EENG) entitled “Polymer Waveguide Fabrication for Optical Interconnections on PCB”. He is a graduate member of and registered mentor with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a member of Laser Institute of America (LIA) from which he is a member of the ANSI SSC-8-Z136.8 Standard Subcommittee on the Safe Use of Lasers in Research, Development and Training, and Technical Subcommittees (TSC-4) on Control Measures and Training.
