Leonard Druyan
Leonard M. Druyan is a Senior Research Scientist and the director of the Center for Climate Systems Research (CCSR) at Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Druyan earned a PhD in Meteorology from New York University in 1971. He was previously a Senior Resident Research Associate sponsored by the US National Research Council, a meteorologist with NASA and the US National Weather Service and an associate professor of Geography at Bar Ilan University. He has been a principle investigator on grants from NASA, the US National Science Foundation and the US Department of Energy. He has published more than 75 research papers in numerous journals and volumes, among them the Journal of Applied Meteorology, Monthly Weather Review, Journal of Climate, Journal of Atmospheric Science, Journal of Geophysical Research, Geophysical Research Letters, Bulletin of the AMS, Climate Dynamics, International Journal of Climatology, Climatic Change, Atmosphere-Ocean, Climate Research, and Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics. His current research focuses on investigating the variability of the West African climate via regional climate model simulations.
