Kalu Ogbureke
Kalu U. Ogbureke is a Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial/Head & Neck Pathology, and former chair of the Department of Diagnostic & Biomedical Sciences, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Professor Ogbureke holds several visiting professor positions at Universities worldwide. Ogbureke earned his dental degree from the University of Ibadan, a master’s degree from the University of Glasgow, a doctorate (oral biology) from Harvard University, and a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School. He completed the fellowships in dental surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Ogbureke also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). He is the principal investigator studying the biology of the SIBLING family of proteins in oral cancer. His clinical practice is in diagnostic Oral & Maxillofacial/Head & Neck Pathology.
