Laszlo Tabar

Dr. László Tabár, , M.D., F.A.C.R.(Hon) is a Professor of Radiology at the University of Uppsala School of Medicine, Sweden, Medical Director emeritus at the Department of Mammography, Falun Central Hospital, Sweden, a Project Leader at Randomized Controled Breast Cancer Screening Project in Kopparberg County, Sweden, and a consultant radiologist for numerous comprenhensive breast centers in the United States of America. He has read over 1,000,000 mammographic screening examinations to date since 1977. Dr. Tabár is an author of “Teaching Atlas of Mammography”, published in 1983, co-authored with Dr. Peter B. Dean, which has been translated into German, Italian, Portugese and Spanish. The 3rd edition was published in 2001 and issued in six languages. Other publications include: “Breast Cancer - The Art & Science of Early Detection With Mammography” (2005), co-authored with Dr. Tibor Tot and Dr. Peter B. Dean, “Breast Cancer - The Art & Science of Early Detection With Mammography. Crushed stone-like calcifications: the most frequent malignant type” (2008), co-authored with Dr. Tibor Tot and Dr. Peter B. Dean, “Breast Cancer - The Art & Science of Early Detection With Mammography. Casting type calcifications: sign of a subtype with deceptive features” (2007), also co-authored with Dr. Tibor Tot and Dr. Peter B. Dean, and the “Practical Breast Pathology” (2002) also co-authored with Dr. Tibor Tot and Dr. Peter B. Dean. Dr. Tabár is also an author of 170 articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals. His other life achievements include the positions of: • President of Mammography Education, Inc., Cave Creek, Arizona • Honorary member of the Finnish Radiology Society • Honorary member of the Hungarian Radiology Society • Honorary member of the American College of Radiology • Producer and Director of two prize-winning teaching movies on mammography • Course director and principal lecturer of CME courses in mammography since 1980 in Europe and since 1985 in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Asia (China, Taiwan., Malaysia), South America, India, Africa (Egypt and South Africa) and Mexico. His awards and recognitions include: • Recipient in 1988 of the Terry Fox Award from the British Columbia Medical Association for his contribution to cancer research. • Recipient of the Gold Medal 2001 from the Society of Breast Imaging. • American Cancer Society\'s Distinguished Service Award, 2001 • Recipient of the 2002 IMPACT award for Lifetime Achievement in the fight against breast cancer by the National Consortium of Breast Care Centers, Inc. • Recipient of the 2006 Pathfinder award of the American Society of Breast Diseases

Early detection of breast cancer combined with targeted therapy offers the best outcome for breast cancer patients.
