José D. Carrillo-Ruiz has earned his M.D., M.Sc and PhD. from La Salle University and the National University of Mexico (UNAM). He also coursed his residency in Neurosurgery at Mexico General Hospital and UNAM, and made a fellowship in Stereotaxy and Functional Neurosurgery at Henri Mondor Hospital, Paris and Paris IV University, France. He was the Chairman of the Neurology and Neurosurgery Unit at Mexico General Hospital. In the present, Research Director of the same hospital and the Health Science Director at Anahuac University in Mexico City. He is an expert in the Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and has published several articles of basic and clinic research involving different neurological and psychiatric diseases including Parkinson´s disease, epilepsy, pain, depression and spasticity neuromodulation.
