Michael Brenner
Dr. Michael J. Brenner, M.D., F.A.C.S is Director of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at SIU School of Medicine. Dr Brenner was awarded his medical degree through the 7-year Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University Medical School. He went on to perform residency in the 7-year Advanced Clinical Scholars Program in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Washington University Medical School, completing a two year Plastic Surgery Research Fellowship. His training culminated with a fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at University of Minnesota and he now directs the facial plastic surgery program. Dr Brenner holds leadership positions in the American Academy for Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and is a delegate for the American Medical Association. He has also received several national distinctions for his pioneering research on nerve regeneration. He has lectured extensively, and has authored over 50 articles and book chapters in the field of facial plastic surgery. Dr Brenner specializes in rhinoplasty and also performs the full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstruction procedures, including cosmetic facelift surgery, blepharoplasty, forehead and brow lift surgery, necklift, scar revision, otoplasty, and treatment of traumatic and cancer-related deformities of the face and neck, including microvascular free tissue transfer.
