Guang Yang

Guang Yang is a professor of College of Life Sci & Tech, Huazhong University of Sci & Tech. She received her Bs and PhD degree in Polymer Science from Wuhan University in 1989, and 2000 respectively. She was a visiting scholar in Fundamental Research Laboratory of Natural and Synthetic Polymers, Asahi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Japan (1995-1996). She visited Johannes Gutenberg-Universitaet Mainz Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow (2002-2004) and then Kyushu University in Japan as a JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) fellow (2004-2006). In the past ten years, she has been in charge of or engaged in more than 20 projects, including major grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China, “863” National project, a National Economic and Trade Commission project, “Programs for Elite & Young Teachers” supported by Ministry of Education etc. She was awarded “Prize for Youth Chemist” by CCS (Chinese Chemical Society), 2nd prize of “Natural Science Prize” by Ministry of Education, “Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Prize of Natural Science in Hubei Province”, etc. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers which have been cited for more than 300 times, and approved 5 items of authorized patents. Her current research interest focuses on Biochemical engineering, Bionic nano-composite, Polymer physics & chemistry, involving in study on nano-assembly of ordered eco-friendly materials and their structures & properties, proceeding control and optimization of bio-refining, design and fabrication of novel nano-drug transporter, tissue engineering scaffold materials for biomedical applications, etc.
