Yasuhiro Harada

Yasuhiro Harada received his B.Eng., M.Eng., and Dr. Eng. degrees in electronics from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan in 1985, 1987, 1996, respectively. From 1987 to 1991, he was a reseach associate at the Department of Applied Science, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan. He returned to the Research Institute of Applied Electricity (now Research Institute of Electronic Science), Hokkaido University in 1991 as a research associate, a position he held until 1997. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science, Kitami Insitute of Technology, Japan. His current research interests are optical three-dimensional sensing of transpearent small objects, especially in snow and ice crystals. Dr. Harada is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, the Optical Society of Japan, the Optical Society of America, and the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE).
