Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus Greece

I received my degree in Physics in 1993 from the University of Ioannina, Greece. In 1995 I completed my Postgraduate studies (under scholarship awarded after examinations) at the Institute of Microelectronics of the National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) “Demokritos”. In 2002 I received my PhD degree from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in collaboration with the NCSR “Demokritos”, thesis title: Silicon nanocrystallites in multi-layered structures of Si/CaF2”. The work resulted, has been published and announced in international conferences. Since 2000 I am a Lecturer at the departments of: (a) Computers and Electronics and (b) Physics, Chemistry and Material Technology at the Technological Educational Institute of Pireus, Greece. Since 2007 I am a research associate at the department of Industrial Management and Technology at the Univeristy of Piraeus, Greece. During the acad. years 1999-2010 I worked as assistant professor at the engineering departments of two different colleges in Greece. My main research interests are in the areas of nano devices and optoelectronics and recently focused in the electronic behavior of bio sensors. My recent publications refer to fault tree analysis of biosensors and study of ionizing radiation on optoelectronic devices.
