I am graduated in Dentistry in the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1998), Minas Gerais, Brazil. I have my PhD in Sciences, concentration area in Oral Pathology, by School of Medicine from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1999-2003). He is currently a professor of the Oral Pathology and Stomatology Department in Dentistry at the Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brazil. In the post-graduation programme in my University, I have been working as professor and researcher of the Health Sciences Programme (Master, PhD, and Post-doctoral stage). From 2010 to 2012, I was director of that post-graduate programme. Nowadays, I have been developing multi- and interdisciplinaries researches about i) clincopathological and molecular studies of experimental diseases (neoplasm, especially those that affect the upper aerodigestive tract and skin) and human diseases and ii) public health. This researcher has research projects supported by public agencies (Fapemig and CNPq). In the Health Research Laboratory, located in the University Hospital of my University, my colleagues and I perform molecular studies in cells/animal and human tissues employing diverse laboratorial techniques (histochemistry, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, PCR, rtPCR, PCR-MSP, western blotting, culture cell lines, and others) that are usually performed in our research projects. I am the coordinator of the research group \Núcleo de Pesquisa Epidemiológica e Molecular Catrumano (Nupemoc) and we have working with many work partners of different universities and research centers in Brazil and in foreign universities, among them, the University of Maryland, Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences.
