Ladislav Reinprecht

Prof. Ing. Ladislav Reinprecht, Ph.D. is a wood protection specialist at the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology, Technical University of Zvolen, Slovak Republic. His research involves maily the analysis of wood deteriorated by fungi and weather, the chemical protection of wood, and also the conservation of damaged wood. He has lectures for students in the following subjects: Wood Protection, Processes of Wood Degradation and Modification, Reconstruction of Damaged Wooden Structures. Ladislav Reinprecht received his Ing. (M.Sc.) degree in organic chemistry in 1976 at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. Post-graduate study in the field of mycology finished in 1986 at the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Natural Science. The Ph.D. degree and the Prof. degree in Wood Technology he recieved in 1981 and 1997, respectively. In addition to authoring or co-authoring of 6 books, 8 monographs, and more than 60 scientific publications in periodicals, he presented numerous papers at national and international scientific meetings. In past he organised symposia (Reconstruction and Conservation of Historical Wood in 1991, 1995 and 1999, or Wood-destroying Fungi in 1997, 2000, 2005). He is a member of the International Research Group of Wood Protection.
