Mohammad Jawaid

Mohammad Jawaid is currently working as a Fellow Researcher, the Biocomposite Laboratory, Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Previously he worked as Visiting Lecturer, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He previously worked as Expatriate Lecturer under the UNDP project with the Ministry of Education of Ethiopia at Adama University, Ethiopia. He received his PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2011. He has approximately 4 years of experience in teaching and research and has 3 years of industrial experience. His area of research interests includes Hybrid Reinforced/Filled Polymer Composites, Advance Materials: Grapheme/Nanoclay/Fire Retardant, Lignocellulosic Reinforced/Filled Polymer Composites, Modification and Treatment of Lignocellulosic Fibres and Solid Wood, Nano Composites and nano cellulose fibers, Polymer blends. He has published over 35 journal papers and conferences/seminars. He has also published 5 Review papers in reputed journals and one of his published works in Carbohydrate Polymers is one of the 25 top hot articles during Jan-Dec 2011. He is also the reviewer of reputed journals such as Material Science and Engineering Part C, Composite Part A, BioResources, Journal of Applied Polymers, etc. He is also receipt of the 'Best Thesis Award 2011” from USM, Penang.
