Yury Grigorashvili

Director

Grigorashvili Yury Evgenievich was born in 1947 in the town of Ussuriysk, in the Far East region of Russia. In 1972, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology with his Master’s degree in Electronic. In 1974, Yuri Grigorashvili received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the same university. After that, he worked as the lead engineer at the plant, specializing in electronic chip manufacturing. From 1978 to 1988, Dr. Grigorashvili had held a position of senior research associate. Since then, he has taken the role of the director of superconducting microelectronics laboratory at the Moscow National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET). His scientific work has been related to the study of the formation of electronic components, research of degradation processes in these components, and physics of failure. After the discovery of high-temperature superconductivity, key research has been focused on problems of creating superconducting electronic components and devices. Between 1995 and 1997, MIET took part in the joint US - Russia Experiment MIDAS (Material In Devices As Superconductors). In this project, the properties of MIET fabricated structures - Y-123 and Bi- 2223 were studied under space flight conditions on MIR Station. As a result of completed projects over the years more than 150 papers have been published. Since 1995, there have been received nine Russian patents. The displays presented at the international exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, and Russia since 2004 have won five medals in development of various electronic devices.
