Ken-Ichi Sato
Ken-ichi Sato was born in Hokkaido, Japan. He graduated from the Faculty of Science, Kobe University, Kobe, Japan, in 1988. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in biology from the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kobe University, in 1996. From 1991 to 2007, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Research Center for Environmental Genomics, Kobe University. In 2007, he launched his own research group on Cell Signaling and Development at Kyoto Sangyo University, Kyoto, Japan. His research interest is the role played by protein-tyrosine kinases in transmembrane signal transduction mechanisms such as in cancer cells and in fertilized eggs. Currently, he is a Professor at the Department of Industrial Biosciences, Faculty of Life Sciences, Kyoto Sangyo University.
