JCB’s Editor-in-Chief to take part in the “Short Course in the Microbiome” free webinar series

The Journal of Circulating Biomarkers’ Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Winston Patrick Kuo (COO IES Diagnostics), has teamed up with Biopharma Research Council and will be taking part in the free webinar series “Short Course in the Microbiome”.
The webinar consists of 4 Sessions to be held between April 9th and April 30th, 2015:
- Session 1 - The Systems Biology Approach (April 9, 2015 11:00am EDT)
- Session 2 - Roundup of the News (April 16, 2015 11:00am EDT)
- Session 3 - Spatially Explicit Maps (April 23, 2015 11:00am EDT)
- Session 4 - Microbiome & Cancer Therapy (April 30, 2015 11:00am EDT)

Dr. Kuo will be featured in Session 1 - "The Systems Biology Approach" on April 9th, 2015, 11:00 EDT, and in Session 2 - "Roundup of the News" on April 16th, 2015, 11:00 EDT.
During Session 1 Dr. Kuo will be joined by Rob Knight, University of California, Sand Diego, and Howard Young, Ph.D., Deputy Chief NCI Laboratory of Experimental Immunology. The participants will discuss new understandings of the ways the metabolites can be altered and released into the host to affect cardiac health, brain function, etc. In addition, fresh questions made relevant through new methodological approaches will be addressed.
Session 2, also featuring Camilia R. Martin, M.D., M.S., Harvard Medical School and Howard Young, will focus on an overview of current thinking on the human microbiota (the microbes living in and on our body) and how they have a significant impact on health in a good way, and also their negative aspects as well. Dr. Kuo will touch upon specific disease areas, as well as synergies between the microbiome, nutrition, metabolism, and interactions with the immune system.
