Scope and Topics of the Journal
International Journal of Regenerative Medicine is a peer-reviewed scientific publication that brings together the principles, scientific research results and clinical applications of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
The journal will offer a well-rounded collection of high quality manuscripts that deal with research on tissues, organs and cells and cover all the key aspects of the regenerative medicine field, including the development of new biomaterials and processing of scaffolds, the use of different types of cells (mainly stem and progenitor cells) and their culture in specific bioreactors, as well as investigations on the current status and progress of tissue engineering in different organ systems.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
- Embryonic stem cells promises and limitations
- Fetal stem cells and their pluripotency
- Adult stem cells and their applications
- Precursor cells for tissue engineering
- Organization of cells and tissues
- Microenvironments and regeneration
- Cell-biomaterial interaction in tissue repair
- Naturally derived biomaterials
- Biodegradation nanomaterials
- Synthetic biomaterial development
- Nanotechnology and regenerative medicine
- Bioreactors and engineering of tissues
- Improving vascularity in engineered constructs
- Innervation in engineered organs
- Cellular therapies within reach
- Therapies using engineered tissues
- Organ replacement within reach
- Cell therapy for muscle regeneration
- Bone engineering
- Engineering of ligaments and tendons
- Peripheral nerves
- Neural tissue engineering
