Dr. Goran S. Nikolic was born in Knez Selo (Nis, Serbia) on November 1, 1966. He received his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry (1990), Master degree in Organic Chemical Technology and Polymer Engineering (1996), and finally his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering (2002) from the University of Nis, Faculty of Technology in Leskovac. Currently, he is an associate professor at the same university and the head of organic-technological sciences department (since 2005) and scientific-research laboratories (Spectroscopy, Chromatography) at the Faculty. He is a project manager of a national project in the technological development area granted by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia. He is experienced in team work as a researcher, as well as in project management, and managing of academic institution at different levels (vice dean, department chairman, head of research laboratory). He is a member of the TEMPUS Joint European Project (JPHES 2010, MCHEM 2010, IB-JEP 19020) of environmental application and management courses, member of Serbian Chemical Society and Physicochemical Association of Serbia and he has authored and co-authored more than 300 scientific papers published in international and national scientific journals and conferences in the field of chemical technology.

Fourier Transforms - Approach to Scientific Principles
This book aims to provide information about Fourier transform to those needing to use infrared spectroscopy, by explaining the fundamental aspects of the Fourier transform, and techniques for analyzing infrared data obtained for a wide number of materials. It summarizes the theory, instrumentation, methodology, techniques and application of FTIR spectroscopy, and improves the performance and quality of FTIR spectrophotometers.
