Become a Book Editor - Edited Volumes

Edited Volumes are integrated collections of chapters about particular topics that present new areas of research or novel syntheses of existing research and, as such, represent perspectives from various authors.

The scientific quality of 2,819 fully Open Access books published by InTechOpen is made possible, in part, by the editorial engagement of leading researchers that take on the role of our Book Editors. Our editors are international experts from major scientific fields who work with us to ensure that our endeavors meet the requirements and needs of the scientific community.

All of our publications are fully Open Access which means that researchers will never have to pay permission fees and can adapt, use, and further build upon the material from the published chapters. This approach helps eliminate any barriers to the further development of scientific research allowing it to be even more impactful within the scientific community.

To date, over 2,350 editors have collaborated with us in the expansion of our Open Access book portfolio.

InTechOpen Book Editors benefit from:

  • GREATER VISIBILITY
All InTechOpen books are published on our platform which registers an average of 132,000 visits per week offering our editors greater visibility. Increased scientific impact and visibility among scientific communities offer the possibility of increasing citations. In 2015, the Book Citation Index in the Web of Science™ Core Collection (BKCI) started indexing our books and currently over 43% of all indexed Open Access titles in BKCI come from our collection.
  • NEW FORMS OF COLLABORATION
The book format offers editors an opportunity to work with international authors active in diverse fields on a single project. This kind of collaborative effort allows for an expansion of scientific circles. Our authors and editors come from top universities, are highly cited and include two Nobel Laureates.
  • OUR FULL SUPPORT
Editors receive full personal and technical support for their editorial work. Each editor will have the support of a Publishing Process Manager (PPM) to guide them through their editorship. PPMs handle all communication with authors, and assist editors in using our manuscript tracking system to streamline editorial responsibilities.
  • PRINTED BOOKS
Our editors receive 2 print copies and an electronic copy of the book they edited and receive discounts on the purchase of any InTechOpen book in the future.

If you are an experienced scientist in the STM field and you are interested in collaborating with us as a Book Editor, we invite you to send us your application. The catalogue of planned edited volumes and an application form can be found below.
